About Me
I love ren fair and dressing up and the people and everythign!!! My twin and I just got our rennie names last fair and we've been going for about 4 years now. I am Red and she is Rumy and together we are Redrum, ya know, Murder backwards... haha!
Music
I honestly just love music!! I'm always looking for new cool bands! It's weird how I say I don't like one kind of music and then some band comes along with that style and they change my mind. I used to hate country, and then came the Dixie Chicks. I thought folk music was for old foggies, but then came my guys the Hudsons. What I listen to on a regular basis differs on my mood, but mostly it has lead female singers. That's because I love to sing along with my music. The styles I like are punk, christian rock, 40's, swing, salsa, blues, jazz, rock/punk, some country, folk, classical, and whatever is new and fun...
Movies
Movies are great, yeah! I'm such an optimist though that I end up at least semi-liking almost every movie I see!! In fact, I hate seeing movies with those people who are wannabe critics! The styles of movies I like best though are epics, sci-fi, romantic comedy, and adventure. I honestly don't like sad movies much though, so that pretty much rules out dramas in general. However, there are some classic dramas that are worth watching and sometimes I'm in the mood for a good cry.
TV
Before I moved to Houston I was attached to my television, but now it seems like I'm just way too busy. However, I do have TiVO now and so I record my shows and get to them when I can, which actually ends up being weeks later... maybe I should start recording less or something?? Well, the shows I watch are Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Heros, and other random ones.
Books
Reading is a favorite past time of mine, though I usually only get time to when on airplanes and right before bed. I've been traveling alot lately, so I've read alot. Lots of christian fiction, some fantasy, and sci-fi and jane austin and so on. I'm listening to Al Gore's Age of Reason on cd now and would recommend it to EVERYONE!!!! My favorit authors are C.S. Lewis, Anne Rice, Orson Scott Card, Jane Austen, and Don Miller. Of course the Bible is a good read too and I usually read it once a day. I do also love The Classics, Greek Mythology, the Left Behind Series, and those which I have yet to discover.
Likes
sewing, dancing, reading, playing piano, singing, hanging with friends and being silly
Dislikes
Um, mean people? I guess i dislike the fact that there is evil in this world and it's hard to explain to people that this isn't the only life there is...
Hobbies
What is not an interest of mine... I'd really like to try everything in life once!! I suppose if you know me though you'd say dancing, singing, sewing, planning activities, ren fests, traveling, and reading are some of the main ones. What I want to try soon though is surfing, skydiving, and scuba diving. There's something about living close to the water that makes me want to try more water sports. Shoot me an email if any of ya'll want to try these anytime soon with me!
Vices
Spending too much, liking things that cost to much, liking too many tv programs, being sensitive sometimes
Virtues
Loyalty, honesty, and virtue
Heroes
Heros are overrated since everyone is just human. The only one who lived who could really be considered a true hero in the movies and comic book way is Jesus. But as for exceptional humans who I respect, here's a list. My mom (not so cheesy if you knew her), Queen Elizabeth I (amazing woman!), Martin Luther King (I swear it's not just cause it sounds good!), Al Gore (ok, i love his book alot!!!), Mother Theresa (I can't imagine living the life she lived with such grace!), and a few others I can't think of now

So the past three days the R/F forums is missing.... and I am in desperate WITHDRAWL!!!!! I spend so much time on there with friends and chatting and catching up, it feels like I lost my cell phone or something? Anyone else feel this way?
I was wondering if anyone knows what has happened? We used to have attacks like this a while back, but haven't had one in a while that I know of. Did this have to do with the updates the forums was planning? Did it add loop holes for the hackers or did the hackers attack before they did the updates?
So now that I'm without this fun distraction from work, am I just supposed to work more now..... I say NO.... so what else should I do? Hmmm... more blogging on renspace, signing up for more dating website, an online degree, silly games, another forum?? Any suggestions?

So today a new poll was taken in the world about women's rights in different countries. They polled on the education of women, the equal wages of women, and their role in the government mainly.... So where do you think the US ranks?
We are 27th in the world... that's pretty sad, don't you think?
Apparently we are Number 1 for education, more women in America get an education than men. But women still make significantly less than men AND we have very few women in political positions.
So the CNN guy talking this summed it up perfectly "So in America we say, yes women get an education, but we won't pay you and we won't let you lead us!!" Talk about hitting the nail on the head, huh?
My reaction to this goes as follows... SOOO NOT COOL!!! OK, it's awesome that women are getting educated here, but how is it at all fair for us to not get paid equally.... And personally I think women are in general people who are a little better at looking at two sides of an argument, which to me is important in politics. On a personal note, in the past week I've been contacted on this dating website by two guys who by all accounts seem fairly normal, but who don't have cars or jobs!!! It might be because they also don't have college educations yet, but are both going to school now.... So if us women are supposed to be dating and supporting these broke guys, then maybe we ought to be paid like we're the soul bread winners in a household!! (BTW, I'm not at all gonna actually date these dudes, but it's really telling about who's out there these days)

This past weekend, Lady Bess and I visited LARF for the first time ever. We had such a warm welcome, from the guys helping put up our tent as soon as we got there, to invites to have supper with friends, and new friendships in general. Saturday, I wore my new black and white outfit. I made some large black velvet lined sleeves with pearling, an underskirt to match, and bought a new hat and caul.
The new hat has a tudor rose embroidered on the top as well as the caul, and I beaded it to make it really stand out. And I got to show off my new goblet.
We bought tickets to the wine tasting on Saturday and had a glorious time!! The wines were wonderful and the cheese and fruit was very tasty.
We also got to spend some time with our friend Queen Elizabeth.
Sunday morning started with giving our favors to the Queen at her pavillion.
We also walked the parade both Sat and Sun by request of the Queen and cast. Then the wine tasting people asked us to come to the wine tasting on Sunday as well for a reduced price and we couldn't pass that up.
The 1st half hour, the Queen joined us with Dudley, of course.

The courtesan twins, Champagne the Bubbly and Jezebel the Jewel, visited TRF the past two weekends. We spent our first day in our lushious gowns eating chocolate covered strawberries and watching Iris and Rose, one of our favorite bawdy shows!!
Courtesans also make it their business to attempt corrupting of men of the cloth. This particular Monk did not need much convincing, though he flogged himself all day for his indiscretions!!
Champagne felt there was nothing more seductively tasty than choclate covered strawberries!! Lily the Pink, our courtesan friend and mentor in the ways of our trade spent the morning with us as well.
Later in the day, we met up with our friend Kat, and had a fabulous time sucking on lollipops, running into old friends, and making many new male friends. We also did a bit of a photoshoot with many of our favorite photographers and below is one of the pics that was taken.
We also stopped by our favorite flutemakers shop for a bit of a photoshoot with an Arizona photographer....
The following weekend at TRF, Jezebel and Champagne again came to tempt the men!! We had lots of fun running around with our neice and mom.
The new addition this week was the beautiful pink and pearl necklace Jezebel made for me and the matching earrings. Also, the bright pink lashes were new and fun! If you missed Jezebel and Champagne these past two weekends, you can expect them again probably closing weekend, as long as it's not too cold!!

The 2nd weekend of TRF 08 was a magical and silly weekend of fun! Red Bud and Oops played fairy baseball in the garden, and then blew tons of bubbles for little fairies. We made many new fairy friends who's favorite activity was sleeping in the shade!
We also brought our fairy mommy, Flower.
We played with our winged Kat friend...
But she stole my Snarffle and tried to keep it for herself.... So we decided to go play games with our indian friend Eagle Wolf.
We poked him with his own stolen arrow even... But we got bored after a bit, until an EVIL DEMON appeared and tried to terrorize us!
But thankfully we got away from him too... Then we spied a sleeping princess and thought sneaking up on her would be fun too!!
In the end we just decided to hang out in the woods among the flowers and our natural habitat
